If you are attending a wedding and need a great gift idea, you are in the right spot. If you are a bride or groom, here are some things to think about when someone asks, “what can I get you as a wedding gift?”
1) Money: While you may think this is impersonal or uncreative, money is the number one thing a newly married couple needs. Get a nice a card and insert cash or check. It’s easy and practical.
2) A Big/ Expensive Registry Item: The bigger, expensive items on a couple’s registry are probably what they want the most and what they may not be able to afford on their own. If it’s too much, consider splitting among friends.
3) A Luxurious Hotel Room: If the couple doesn’t have arrangements for their wedding night, surprise them with a luxurious hotel room or upgrade the room they have booked.
4) Something Timeless: Scotch or fine wine to be opened on their anniversary, a painting, or something handmade or antique.
5) Honeymoon Extras: If you know where the couple is going on their honeymoon, you can get them gift certificates to a great restaurant or activity. You could also upgrade their plane tickets or hotel room, give them travelers checks, a camera or something related to the trip.
