Mi Piaci means It pleases me. I had the opportunity to have lunch with Neal Bryant, the Director of Special Events, and I was definitely pleased with the meal. We started with crispy calamari with crushed red pepper and marinara and some fresh bread with olive oil for dipping and finished with fontina cheese and king crab filled ravioli served with mushrooms, tomatoes, asparagus and a white wine truffle butter sauce — Yum! I didn’t have room for dessert, but they have some mouth-watering choices.
Recognized as “one of the nation’s best restaurants” Mi Piaci is casually elegant and a visual delight. The space is sleek and modern featuring soaring ceilings, dramatic lighting and a wall of windows overlooking a pond. It is sun filled and bright by day; candle lit and warm in the evening — the perfect place for a rehearsal dinner or reception. They even do wedding ceremonies!
Mi Piaci is located at:
14854 Montfort Dr.
Dallas, Texas, 75254

Not sure what to do for your wedding grand exit? Here are some rice-alternative ideas that fit every style.
Bubbles: Bubbles are great for kids and make a nice take-away. They also make for fun photos with little clean-up and are very affordable.
Petals: If you want something traditional, consider rose petals, dried lavender or other dried floral. You get a pop of color in your photos, something that smells nice and it’s eco-friendly!
Eco-Friendly Confetti: Also known as “eco-fetti,” this faux confetti gives you more control over color and style and dissolves naturally as petals or lavender would. Read More »

To say I love cheese is an understatement. Until the movie Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, I thought putting queso in a fountain was all my brilliant idea. The truth is, this service is actually offered by a few caterers/ fountain companies and there are couples out there with my same obsession for queso who have attempted this before. Although delicious and fabulous, a queso fountain is not easy to pull off. Without proper instruction, you could clog a fountain or have something that looks repulsive. Here’s all you need to know to set up the perfect queso fountain at your wedding reception:

In honor of Father’s Day, today’s post is all about Dads and their responsibilities in the wedding planning process. As the Father of the Bride, you might think your only role is writing checks. Well, think again. Here is your cheat sheet to everything you need to know to make your little girl’s wedding a dream come true:

There are many reasons to hire a Wedding Planner, but these are my top three. My best advice to any bride is to at least have a Wedding Day Coordinator to ensure the wedding goes smoothly and everyone involved is at ease.
1) Save Time: Planning a wedding is a full-time job. There are a lot of little details to think of and hundreds of vendors out there to choose from. A planner will do all the leg work for you and recommend vendors that match your style.
2) Save Money: While you may think Wedding Planners are a big expense, we actually come in all different price ranges and offer packages for any budget. Wedding Planners are not the big luxury we used to be. We save you money by getting deals from vendors we partner with and after all, time is money.
3) Save Stress: A stressed bride is not a happy bride. Wedding Planners can put your worries to rest by taking care of the details for you. On your wedding day, you just need to show up and have a good time. The Wedding Planner is the one dealing with vendors and to-dos. You and your family and friends can relax, because they deserve to have a good time too!

The name:
“Yes”– The three letter word every guy holding a diamond ring wants to hear and the answer to “Will you marry me?”.
After this huge step in the relationship comes the planning process leading to the wedding day. And so, “After Yes” is your Dallas, TX wedding planning boutique that handles every step from “yes” to “I do”.
The logo:
A wedding is made up of intricate details that make it special – the dress, the cake, the flowers… All of these things represent a couple in love and their commitment to each other to come together in marriage. It’s all about love, and so the pieces form a heart.
Me:
I have a passion for weddings, cheese is my all time favorite food (tied with ice cream), and my husband is my best friend. To relax, I like a powerful yoga class or a good glass of red wine. I am Elizabeth Gonzalez, former Advertising Executive gone Wedding Planner and the creator of After Yes. In my spare time I also manage event creative for The Make-A-Wish Foundation of North Texas. I have an unsurpassable attention to detail. My kind heart and creative mind brings the talent needed to create the best day of your life.
