They are travel-size and fit your purse and some of them even come with a tote bag to put your heels in. Plus, they come in several colors and styles. There is even a roll-up flip-flop!

SpareSoles don’t have to be just for weddings either — take them with you whenever you go out and never sacrifice style for comfort again!

A Flawless Face in Wedding Photos

Wedding pictures hold some of the happiest memories of a lifetime, so be sure you consider all the angles when preparing to be photographed on the big day.

In the weeks and months leading up to the wedding…

Plan your procedures ahead- it’s easy to get caught up in the craziness of tastings, fittings and appointments and forget to schedule facial treatments until the last minute. Don’t be tempted to get microdermabrasion or chemical peels within at least a month of the event, depending on the exact type of laser or peel. Laser resurfacing “heals within days and normal color returns within a few weeks- if that long” according to Dr. Edward Lack (Chicago liposuction). Even a simple facial shouldn’t be considered in the last few days leading up. Call well ahead of time and discuss this with the technician.

Best Wedding Gifts

If you are attending a wedding and need a great gift idea, you are in the right spot. If you are a bride or groom, here are some things to think about when someone asks, “what can I get you as a wedding gift?”

1) Money: While you may think this is impersonal or uncreative, money is the number one thing a newly married couple needs. Get a nice a card and insert cash or check. It’s easy and practical.

2) A Big/ Expensive Registry Item: The bigger, expensive items on a couple’s registry are probably what they want the most and what they may not be able to afford on their own. If it’s too much, consider splitting among friends.

3) A Luxurious Hotel Room: If the couple doesn’t have arrangements for their wedding night, surprise them with a luxurious hotel room or upgrade the room they have booked.

heart icon Etiquette Tips for a “No Children” Wedding

Couples generally decide on a “no children” wedding for two reasons: 1) To save money by cutting down on the number of  guests; 2) To avoid crying, screaming, running around, little hands in the cake and who knows what else. Depending on the size of your families and the life stages of your friends, having an “adult only” wedding or asking for no children can be a great way to save money and avoid these unpredictable instances. This can also hurt a lot of feelings. So what do you do? I have outlined tips for the bride and groom, as well as the guest with children, on how to handle this sensitive subject while keeping with proper etiquette.

For the Bride and Groom:

  • Give Fair Warning: Before sending your invitations, call your guests with children and let them know you are having an adult only wedding. This will give them plenty of time to make arrangements for a babysitter and avoid any confusion later.
  • Don’t be Tacky: Printing “no children” on an invitation is a little off-putting. Instead, consider “adult only” or indicate the number of people invited on the RSVP card. For example, “We have reserved ___ seats in your honor” and only include adults in the count. Read More »

heart iconWedding Queso Fountain

To say I love cheese is an understatement. Until the movie Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, I thought putting queso in a fountain was all my brilliant idea. The truth is, this service is actually offered by a few caterers/ fountain companies and there are couples out there with my same obsession for queso who have attempted this before. Although delicious and fabulous, a queso fountain is not easy to pull off. Without proper instruction, you could clog a fountain or have something that looks repulsive. Here’s all you need to know to set up the perfect queso fountain at your wedding reception:

heart icon Wedding Responsibilites for the Father of the Bride

In honor of Father’s Day, today’s post is all about Dads and their responsibilities in the wedding planning process. As the Father of the Bride, you might think your only role is writing checks. Well, think again. Here is your cheat sheet to everything you need to know to make your little girl’s wedding a dream come true:

PreWedding:

  • Along with your wife, host an engagement party
  • Contribute to the wedding budget
  • Help the couple decide on sites and/ or make other big planning decisions
  • May help choose a hotel for out-of-town guests and reserve a block of reduced-rate rooms, create maps to be included with invitations, or anything else couple asks for help with
  • Rent your own formalwear (talk with the couple if you’re to coordinate with wedding party)
  • Help pick up out-of-town guests from the airport; may also arrange transportation to and from the wedding (vans, bus and so on)
  • Typically travel to ceremony with bride
