I cannot express how seriously excited I am for this event. If you love weddings and cake, you have to be there.
Enjoy cocktails, light bites and 10 larger-than-life displays from the famed bakers mentioned below (and even a taste testing too!) as they compete for the coveted TWG Platinum Cake Award!

2011 is just 2 days away. If you are a bride-to-be, the only countdown you may be thinking of is days until your wedding. Here are some New Year’s Resolutions that will help you put things in perspective.
1.) I will be happy with my body image. While trying to loose weight before your wedding (and after the holidays) is perfectly normal, don’t take it too far. You want to look and feel like yourself on your wedding day. Eat healthy portions, but still treat yourself every once in a while. Work out 3-4 times a week, but don’t beat yourself up if you miss a day. Your fiance proposed to you the way you are and he will be happy with you no matter what. Accept this and be happy too.
2.) I will spend non-wedding time with my fiance (and others). While everyone is excited for your special day, they don’t want to hear about it 24/7. We know you have appointments and to-do’s, but designate at least one day a week in which you won’t say or do anything ‘wedding’. Go on a nice date and just enjoy being engaged.

Worried about holiday over-eating and getting into a wedding dress? With this 6-month Wedding Fitness Plan from The Knot, you can treat yourself and stay fit. Remember to consult your physician before beginning a diet or exercise plan.
Wedding Fitness Checklist
Cardiovascular workouts, like walking or jogging, can be done anywhere outside. Just make sure you have the following:
- Comfortable clothes
- Running shoes
- Two 3- or 5-pound hand weights
- A straight-back chair
- A mat or blanket (optional)
Month 1
This month, you should mainly be focused on just getting active and engaged in the program. A good way to get motivated is to start a workout diary. Write down the date, all the reasons why you need to work out, and what your goals are. Write down your weight (always weigh yourself in the morning for consistency), and use a measuring tape to record the size of your chest, waist, hips, thighs, and forearms, so you can monitor your progress. To stay motivated, keep notes all the way through.
Tip: Weigh in and take measurements once a month only. Focusing on quick results will only discourage you.
