Kinekt Designs Gear Ring

Is your man looking for a funky, modern alternative to the classic wedding band? Look no further. Kinekt Designs designs objects, including jewelry, that looks modern, but also involves physical interaction. Co-creators Glen Liberman and Ben Hopson describe their product, The Gear Ring, as “complex enough to play with, yet simple enough to wear.”

Priscilla of Boston Closing

Sad news hit the wedding community early Tuesday morning when Priscilla of Boston, couture wedding dress salon, announced they will be retiring their brand at the end of this year. ”After 65 years of serving some of America’s most beautiful brides, we have made the difficult decision to bring our business to a close,” the company said in a statement on their website.

Priscilla of Boston has produced and sold thousands of gorgeous wedding and bridesmaid dresses for the last 65 years. Some of the most famous dresses have been featured on the Today Show, Say Yes to the Dress and New York Fashion Week. The Priscilla brand shot to fame after making the bridesmaid dresses when actress Grace Kelly married the Prince Monaco in 1956. Priscilla also designed the wedding gowns for President Nixon’s daughters.

If you have questions about existing orders, they have answered the most frequently asked questions on their website. While the stores will be offically closing their doors on December 31st, they will still be accepting orders until September 12th.

Kim Kardashian & Kris Humphries’ Upcoming Celebrity Wedding

If you haven’t heard, Kim Kardashian will be tying the knot with New Jersey Nets star, Kris Humphries. The couple started dating last summer and have been engaged since Humphries popped the question in May.

The wedding will be held this Saturday in California. Some are calling it the second most anticipated wedding next to the Royal Wedding. The brides sisters Kourtney, Khloe, Kendall and Kylie will serve as bridesmaids, along with a few of the bride’s close friends.

Kim’s 20.5 carat ring set Kris back a whopping $2 Million. Kate Middle’s famous heirloom ring doesn’t even size up at 18 carats. Kim’s sister, Khloe’s engagement ring is a mere 9 carats. Way to go Kris (a bit much?)!

Celebrities rumored to be in attendance include: Ryan Seacrest, Kathie Lee Gifford, Jennifer Lopez, Kelly Osbourne, Nicole Richie, Serena and Venus Williams, and Justin Bieber.

The gorgeous black and white invitations were custom made by Lehr & Black, who also created invites for Kim’s sister Khloe and her husband Lamar Odom, Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale, and Fergie and Josh Duhamel, among others. The invite, which arrived at guests’ homes housed inside its own box, is embellished with hundreds of jet black hematite crystals.

Although we do know Vera Wang is the designer, the details of the wedding dress are being kept top secret.

You can see all the wedding details first-hand when Kim’s Fairytale Wedding: A Kardashian Event airs in a two night special on E! in October and look for the exclusive pictures in People magazine later this month.

Katie Leigh and Preston’s Ranch Wedding on Lake Granbury

High-school sweet hearts Katie Leigh Baten and Preston Smith were married on May 22, 2011 at the groom’s family ranch on Lake Granbury. Southern hospitality, boots, country dancing and a lemonade bar — this wedding was Texas done right — complete with a Texas-shaped groom’s cake and pies. They also served sweet potato fries and barbecue. The fence backdrop for the ceremony was built by Preston. They made their own rope table number signs and even the bubbles were the shape of cowboy boots. Katie Leigh changed into a short dress for dancing and the grand exit. Congratulations to the lovely couple!
